HOW TO USE PROTECTIC 789:
FOLLOW THESE BASIC GUIDLINES: 1.
CLEAN AND VEE OUT THE CRACK. 2.
OPEN IT UP, AS WE WANT TO DO TWO BUTTER PASSES BEFORE JOINTING AND IF
POSSIBLE LEAVE A 3/16″ ROOT OPENING ( IF YOU LEAVE A CRACK BEHIND THE WELD, IT WILL
FAIL, PERIOD!!!!). 3. USE BACK-STEP WELDING TECHNIQUE
AND KEEP THE CASTING BELOW 500°F INTERPASS TEMPERATURE. 4.
NO HEATING IS NEEDED BUT CASTING SHOULD BE WARM AND PROTECTED AGAINST
DRAFTS.
